When can I move in?
Once you are cleared by the Student Accounts and Financial Aid offices, you will be free to move into your residence hall. Please be patient as this process can take some time depending on information from Student Accounts and Financial Aid. It is reccommended that you call these offices before coming to move in to make sure they have your submitted materials. They can be reached at 336-272-7102 ext. 217 and 205. It is preferable to sign all necessary forms and pay all bills prior to your arrival.

After you are clearned you will  move your car and begin the process of moving into your room. West Hall residents go to West Hall Lobby to check in. Hill and Greensboro residents go to the Greensboro Building Lobby to check in. Any students living in the Inn at Greensboro College will check in at the Inn. Again, there will be Pride Leaders, staff members and Campus Security officers to assist you.

If I am a transfer student, do I have to participate in Précis?
Transfer students are encouraged to attend Précis as you will need to participate in academic advising sessions and are invited to all the programs. Your arrival date is also Saturday, August 22 (or August 22 between 1 pm- 3 p.m. if you do not live on campus).

top

If I attend Campus Connection, do I have to attend Précis in August?
Yes. Précis is not a repeat of Campus Connection, the early orientation program. The information you receive in August will be much more detailed. You will not, however, go through the academic advising process again but will have an opportunity to meet with your advisor and make scheduling changes.

When do athletes arrive?
Football players and marching band arrive on August 12. Men's soccer, cheerleading and pride leaders will move in on August 18th, but will go through Check In on the 20th. This group must be "clear" with Financial Aid and Student Accounts PRIOR to moving in.

top

I can't come on Saturday, August 22nd What do I do?
Students who arrive on August 22 will have the smoothest transition to the College. If you cannot arrive on that day, call Ilona Owens, Associate Dean of Students at (336) 272-7102 x406. A Late Arrival Plan is in place to assist you through the process. It is preferable to be here on August 22.

What do parents and family members do on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23?
Your family members are invited and encouraged to join you when you arrive on campus.
On the 22nd, your family will finalize any Financial Aid or Student Account procedures as well as assist you with moving in. Families are invited to attend chapel and New Student Convocation on the 23th. Families of marching band, football, soccer and volleyball players will receive a brief orientation on their arrival day and are welcome to return on August 22, but need not feel obligated.

top

Is it required that families attend a family orientation?
No, but it is a great opportunity for your family to learn more about Greensboro College.

top

What if I have paid my bill, completed the Monthly Payment Plan and/or filed for all financial aid?
You will be presented a CLEAR card at the check-in table on your arrival day that will allow you to move in immediately. You will also be cleared to register for classes. If you still have financial obligations upon arrival, you will need to visit the appropriate office(s) before moving in or registering for classes. The process is designed to go as smoothly as possible but may require a wait depending on your circumstances. It is preferable to sign all necessary forms and pay all bills prior to your arrival.

What if I am a Commuter Student?
If you are not a student-athlete and will not be living on campus, report to campus on Saturday August 22 between 1pm - 3 p.m. to begin Orientation.
